A lot of searching and a reluctance to settle.
It's been a long, winding road for me. Literally—I pursued dreams of bicycle-racing glory for the better part of a decade and the roads were anything but short and straight. Those roads took me all over the country and sometimes even outside of it.
Along the way, I made a living as a bicycle courier, porch builder, bike mechanic and bike shop manager. It seems fitting that the bicycle would eventually take me to my current conclusion as an advertising copywriter. An exciting bunch of marketers in New York had recently won the business of a major bike brand and needed a writer with serious riding experience. They took a chance. I took a chance. And everything since has been a dream ride.
I've found my calling, taking great pride in writing provocative, problem-solving copy for a wide array clients in every medium. I've long since given-up the ghost of professional bike racing, but I still get out and tear up a local ride every now and again.
I still like Instagram, because I enjoy putting pictures to my words.
